Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our puppies and our process
How are your puppies raised and socialized?
We raise our puppies inside of our home using proven Puppy Culture protocols. Every week our puppies are carefully and lovingly raised, as well as intentionally trained and socialized. By the time your puppy arrives home, he/she should be clicker and crate trained, have the basics of potty training started, and be able to sit for petting and greeting. What food do you feed your goldens?
Our goldens see a holistic vet for nutritional consultations. Due to the specific nutrition needs of our breed and the risk of DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy), we have chosen food companies that have developed holistic recipes after many years of veterinary experience. We currently feed Dr. Gary's and Diamond Naturals. Each dog receives size-appropriate meals along with supplements tailored to their individual needs.
What health testing do you perform on your breeding dogs?
All of our breeding dogs are tested through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hips, elbows, eyes (CAER), and heart (OFA Cardiac). We believe health testing is non-negotiable and we are happy to share all test results with prospective families.
How do I get on the waitlist for a puppy?
Please fill out our Adoption Request form to be considered for an upcoming litter. After you submit your application, please text us at 816-668-2728 so we know to expect your application. We will reach out to discuss available pairings and timing.
How much do your puppies cost?
Please contact us directly for current pricing information. Pricing varies based on bloodlines, pedigree, and gender. We encourage you to compare our health testing, Puppy Culture protocols, and lifetime support when evaluating value.
Do you ship puppies?
We prefer to have families pick up their puppy in person so we can do a proper puppy-to-family meet and provide a hands-on transition. In some circumstances we can discuss transport options. Please reach out to discuss your situation.
What comes with my puppy?
Your puppy will come with a health guarantee, age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchip, a puppy pack with food, a blanket that smells like mom and littermates, and detailed care instructions. We also provide ongoing support as your puppy settles into their new home.
What is a Guardian Home?
A Guardian Home is a family that adopts one of our breeding dogs to raise as a beloved family pet. The dog lives permanently with the Guardian family, and we partner with them during the dog's breeding years. It's a wonderful way to have an exceptional dog at a reduced purchase price. Learn more on our Guardian Opportunity page.
Are your dogs AKC registered?
Yes, our breeding dogs and puppies are AKC registered. We take breed standards seriously and our pairings are chosen to produce dogs that are a tribute to the golden retriever breed in health, temperament, and conformation.
What is the difference between American and European Golden Retrievers?
American goldens tend to be slightly leaner and darker gold in color, while European (English) goldens are typically stockier with broader heads and a cream to light gold coat. Both share the breed's legendary temperament. Our program blends American and European bloodlines to capture the best of both.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes. We stand behind the health of our puppies and provide a written health guarantee. Our commitment to OFA health testing on all breeding dogs is our first line of defense, and we partner with families for the lifetime of their dog. Please contact us for full details on our health guarantee terms.
