Puppy Culture: The Gold Standard

From the moment our puppies are born, we follow the Puppy Culture program — a comprehensive, science-based protocol developed by Jane Killion for raising confident, resilient, and well-socialized dogs.

Puppy Culture begins with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) in the first two weeks of life, which has been shown to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, greater tolerance of stress, and greater resistance to disease.

As puppies develop, we introduce manding (polite sitting to request attention), clicker training, crate training, potty training, and an ever-expanding range of socialization experiences including novel objects, surfaces, sounds, people, and animals.

What Your Puppy Knows Before Coming Home

  • Responds to a clicker as a marker for good behavior
  • Sits politely for petting and greetings (manding)
  • Crate training has been started — they see it as a safe, happy place
  • Potty training basics have been introduced
  • Experienced riding in a car
  • Met a variety of people, children, sounds, and surfaces

Brookside Pet Studio for Dogs

We partner with Brookside Pet Studio for Dogs for clicker training and their excellent Puppy Start Right program.

Their force-free, positive-reinforcement approach aligns perfectly with our philosophy. We highly recommend their Puppy Start Right class for all of our families as a wonderful continuation of the foundation we've built.
